National Faculty Development Program 2020

The National Faculty Development Program 2021 is an online learning program to accelerate the transfer of essential knowledge, skills, and attitudes in three dimensions of a successful career as a faculty member: (1) teaching and learning, (2) applied research, and (3) professional practice.

A specialized course in leadership, strategy, and project management for senior employees of Higher Education Commission (HEC). 

The objectives of the program are as follows:

  • Participants will gain an understanding of the Undergraduate Education Policy 2020 (UEP)
  • Participants will increase demonstrated competency in implementing UEP in their course work and teaching
  • Participants will gain an understanding of the semester system (SS) and pedagogical aspects of working within an SS


The course offered:

  • provides foundational level knowledge and practice in teaching online
  • helps participants explore the instructional design of online learning activities
  • helps participants develop an insight in developing online assessments
  • helps participants explore strategies for enhancing online engagement

After completing the Online Teaching Course, participants are expected to be able to:

  • Apply cognitive load theory in the instructional design of online content
  • Devise ways to engage students in online learning environment
  • Design and give accessible and equitable formative and summative online assessments
